Adam's Lifetime Wish was to be a Firefighter Superhero. To do so, he must a) be a firefighter and b) save 30 Sims from emergencies. In The Sims 3: Ambitions, your Sims can join professions instead of careers. The professions are more hands-on than careers. Career workplaces are generally rabbit holes, meaning that your Sim disappears into the building and emerges when the work day is finished. There's a drop-down menu while your Sim is in there. For example, Robyn can choose "Business as Usual" "Work Hard" "Discuss News at Water Cooler" "Practice Writing" and one more that has to do with slacking off, but I can't remember exactly what it is. And of course in her off-hours she can interview people and write reports and stuff.
But the professions are even more complicated. Your Sim doesn't disappear into a rabbit hole; instead he is fully playable throughout his workday. Pretty cool, huh?
So anyway, Adam headed to the fire station to join up. His main duties are maintaining the fire engine and alarms so that everything is in good order for the calls.
Apparently getting his dream job made Adam much more comfortable with his life. He went back home to Robyn and told her all about his day.
Later that night, he popped the question!
Their happiness was short-lived - after they'd gone to bed, a masked figure appeared outside their house. And no, before you ask, I had still not learned from previous experience and installed an alarm.
But who needs an alarm when you've got Adam?
Unfortunately, Adam got his butt kicked. He sulked off to bed while the police officer that Robyn had called came and opened his own can of whoop-ass...and actually won.
